Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this French one-panel! There is a very cool oddity about it. The poster has a tiny "4-46" at the bottom right, which means it was printed in April 1946. However, distribution of U.S. movies in France was very chaotic immediately after World War II (because they had a number of years of movies to "catch up on"!), and it ended up taking two years for this movie to be released in France (it was in July of 1948). This situation existed with some other movies at this time, where posters were printed and then not used for some time. So we are calling this a "1946" poster, because it was printed that year, but the movie itself did not play until 1948, when these posters were finally used. Note that this is an extremely rare French poster from right after World War II! Virtually no French posters survive from the mid 1940s or earlier. There were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards!
