Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and creases, scuffs, and a few tiny tears on parts of some foldlines. There were pinholes around the edges and a fine line of staining running down the middle of the top half of the left and right blank borders. There was an 8" diagonal tear that started at the top center of the poster and went through the "VE" of "LOVE'S" and into the background at top center. There was a small circular area of paper loss in the white background at the middle right of the poster next to the train tracks. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
