He also appeared in several movies such as The Great Bank Hoax, and 4 for Texas, however, he is best remembered as the host of the television (TV) variety series "The Arthur Godfrey Show". He was one of the most powerful men in TV in the 1950s, and he did not like others sharing in his success, and he is legendary for firing singer Julius LaRosa ON AIR, telling him that he needed to get some humility! He passed away in 1983 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: This display, which was for a Rinso/Westinghouse Laundromat Washer giveaway, would have been displayed in stores. People would take one of the entry blanks and enter any of the four weekly contests (see our image).
