An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]) (Learn More)

Soak the Rich, the 1936 Ben Hecht & Charles MacArthur (they not only directed, but also wrote the movie and produced it!) political communism socialism comedy (about a millionaire whose daughter goes to a progressive university he gives endowments to, and when her professor advocates a "soak the rich" bill that would drastically raise taxes on rich people, the father uses his influence to get the professor fired, and meanwhile, his daughter gets involved with a student group of communists!) starring Walter Connolly, Mary Taylor, John Howard, Alice D.G. Miller, and Ilka Chase. Note that although this movie was written 84 years ago, its subject matter is just as relevant in today's world, maybe even more so than it was in 1936! This movie was one of four that Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur directed and wrote between 1934 and 1936. They found far greater success as a screenwriting team, and wrote many great classics!

Important Added Info: Note that first release 1936 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned two pressbooks and five lobby cards from this movie until we received this window card! Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded.

Condition: good to very good. The blank top was trimmed off. The card was once attached to a mat, with tape around the edges of the back, and there is slight surface paper loss on the back of those areas.
