A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" [14 x 22 cm]; 191 pages) (Learn More) George Burns was a legendary comedy actor in radio and film from the 1930s to the 1990s. He is well known for his radio show with his wife Gracie Allen (The Burns & Allen Show) from 1934 to 1950, which moved to TV in 1950, and ran until 1958, and was one of the most creative and innovative TV shows ever! He appeared in in a number of movies with Gracie in the 1930s and 1940s. Gracie passed away in 1964, and he had a successful solo career in such movies as Oh God!, The Sunshine Boys (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and Going in Style. He passed away in 1996 at the age of 100. Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by George Burns! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that this item was consigned to us by an individual who owned a company that made movies and videos with famous celebrities in the 1980s and 1990s. The owner of the company would have the celebrities sign items from their famous films, and sometimes he would find second or third celebrities to autograph an item he already had gotten signed! In addition, he would ask celebrities he came in contact with if they had signed items from other stars that they would sell to him, and he purchased a number of items that way. He also would purchase unsigned items from the famed Larry Edmunds Bookshop in Los Angeles (to have the celebrities sign), and while he was doing that he would also purchase some of their signed items. So all of these autographed items we are auctioning were either obtained in person, obtained from celebrities who obtained them in person, or obtained from the Larry Edmunds Bookshop, and we feel certain that the autograph(s) on this item is authentic! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good. There is a razor cut down the center of the dust jacket and staining at the bottom left of the cover of the jacket. The book and the inscription are in nice condition. The dust jacket is in a protective sleeve, but the cut occurred after the sleeve was put on. Learn More about condition grades
