An Undated (probably 1940s) Re-Release (re-titled "Prison Bait" for this re-release) Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41" [71 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Reform School, the 1939 Leo C. Popkin all-black African American prison juvenile delinquent crime comedy starring Louise Beavers, Harlem's Tuff Kids (a black version of the Dead End Kids!), Reginald Fenderson, Monte Hawley, Eugene Jackson, and an "all colored cast". Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this all-black movie was released in 1939 by tiny Million Dollar Pictures, a maker of all-black cast movies. It appears that in the early 1940s (but perhaps as late as 1946) that Million Dollar re-released the movie as "Prison Bait" (by putting a snipe over the original title on original 1939 one-sheets), and later in the 1940s (perhaps 1948), Toddy Pictures purchased the rights to this movie, along with many other all-black cast movies, and re-released it under the re-release title "Prison Bait". Posters from the Toddy release are sometimes mistakenly sold as first release. Note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 41" [71 x 104 cm].

Condition: poor to fair. The poster is in much lesser condition. There are several defects scattered along the edges and foldlines/crossfolds and there are several significant areas of foldline and/or crossfold separation. It has completely separated into three sections. The poster is in need of restoration. Certainly a top restorer can repair the defects described above but please bear in mind the poster's many defects and the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
