An Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Program (measures 5" x 8" [13 x 20 cm]; 6 pages) (Learn More) Animal Crackers, the classic 1930 Victor Heerman crime screwball comedy starring The Marx Brothers (Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo), Lillian Roth, Margaret Dumont, Louis Sorin, Hal Thompson, and Margaret Irving. Note that this movie features the classic line, "One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I don't know."!AND Laughter, the 1930 Harry d'Abbadie d'Arrast romantic love triangle melodrama (about a former Follies beauty who marries a very old rich man, but she has several young suitors after her, and after many tragedies, including one suitor committing suicide, she ultimately leaves her husband and goes to Paris with one suitor, hoping their "laughter" together will "make her clean") starring Nancy Carroll, Fredric March, Frank Morgan, Glenn Anders, and Diane Ellis. Note that the IMDb lists Ollie Burgoyne as playing Nancy Carroll's maid, "Pearl", but they give her birth date as 1878, and we have seen a still that shows a clearly much younger woman as the maid. It has six pages, and three pages advertise the Four Marx Brothers in Animal Crackers, and three pages advertise Nancy Carroll in Laughter. It is from a really cool collection of 14 English program from 1931 to 1934 (which we are auctioning in 14 separate auctions). Each has either four pages of six pages, and are from the Paramount Theatre Leeds, and they have really cool illustrated ads for classic movies!
