Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe, the 1940 Ford Beebe and Ray Taylor science fiction (sci-fi) comic-strip action adventure fantasy serial ("12 NEW dynamic episodes"; "From the Alex Raymond newspaper feature owned and copyrighted by King Features Syndicate") starring Buster Crabbe ("as Flash Gordon"), Carol Hughes ("as Dale Arden"), Charles Middleton ("as Emperor Ming"), Anne Gwynne ("as Sonja"), Frank Shannon ("as Dr. Zarkov"), Shirley Dean ("as Princess Aura"), and Roland Drew ("as Prince Barin"). Note that the first movie based on Alex Raymond's great newspaper comic strip was "Flash Gordon" in 1936. It was followed by "Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars" in 1938, and then this movie in 1940.

Important Added Info: Note that the Mexican lobby cards from this movie are a bit of a mystery! They feature the cast list for "Buck Rogers" but at least three of the images feature Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon. Of those three images, at least one is from "Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars". Even the border art is a mix of films! We have decided to list these under "Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe" based on the title but we really can't be sure what film these cards were advertising!
