An Original Vintage Linenbacked German World War I Poster (measures 37 1/4" x 55 1/2" [95 x 141 cm]) (Learn More)

Deutsche Luftkriegsbeute Ausstellung (literally translates to "German Air Spoils Exhibition"), the 1917 German World War I (WWI) poster promoting an exhibition of German air war trophies that was held under the sponsorship of His Royal Highness Prince Heinrich of Prussia in Germany in February at a zoo, and featuring Julius Gipkens art of a German Imperial eagle perched on a torn and bullet-holed symbol of the British Royal Flying Corps (in 1918, the name was changed to the British Royal Air Force, or RAF). The poster has the word "Delka" in the upper right in a red box, and that may be an abbreviation of Deutsche Luftssiegsbeute Ausstellung.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster had some faint scuffing throughout and there was some very minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
