Tuttle's story of the same name which appeared in 'Short Stories'"; a wild story of a cowboy who works as a desert guide who befriends a mysterious hermit, who is looking for the man who destroyed his house many years ago; later, the guide meets an important man and falls in love with his daughter, but it turns out the important man is the one that the hermit is looking for, and the hermit gets revenge and kills the man, but it turns out the girl everyone thought was the important man's daughter was actually the hermit's long lost daughter!) starring William Fairbanks, Florence Gilbert, P. Dempsey Tabler, and Al Hart. Note that William Fairbanks was a German-American born Carl Uhlman, and he started in movies at the age of 22 in 1916, and he acted under his own name. In 1921, he had an inspiration and changed his name to "William Fairbanks" (although he was no relation to Douglas Fairbanks), and he started starring in mostly action movies, like Doug did at the same time, and many of William's movies involved car racing, and he did his own stunts. He had a fair amount of success in westerns and action movies, but most of his movies were made for lesser studios, and his career ended in 1928 with the coming of sound. He passed away in 1945 at the age of 50, after having contracted pneumonia. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
