An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) James Whitmore was an actor from the 1950s to the 2000s. Throughout his long career, he alternated between TV, the Broadway stage, and Hollywood. Some of his movies include: The Shawshank Redemption, Battleground (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Tora! Tora! Tora!, and Give 'em Hell, Harry! (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; the film version of his one-man stage show, where he portrayed President Harry Truman). He was also memorable on a 1963 episode of "The Twilight Zone", playing "Captain Benteen", the captain of a group of shipwrecked survivors of a space ship crash on a distant planet! Whitmore passed away in 2009 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by James Whitmore! Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him). Our consignor (and we) feel certain that the autograph on this still is authentic! Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Condition: very good.
