Note that the mount of Maid Marian is played by none other than Trigger the Horse, before he was purchased by Roy Rogers! Finally, note that anyone who saw this movie remembers well the archery contest which comes down to Errol Flynn in disguise and Owain the Welshman, but few people know that Owain was played by the world's greatest archer, Howard Hill, and that he also did Flynn's bow and arrow stunts shown in the movie! Important Added Info: Note that Howard Hill, who played Owain the Welshman in this movie (see above), is widely regarded as the world's greatest archer ever (among his achievements was killing an elephant with a bow and arrow!). He made "The Last Wilderness", his first movie, in 1935, which was three reels long, and he appeared in 19 other shorts over the next 14 years, and then made "Tembo" in 1952, which he produced, directed, and starred in! Apparently, Warner Bros., during the filming of the movie, held a "Robin Hood archery contest", and this great candid still shows Howard Hill posing with Jan Holm, one of the Warner Bros. actresses who entered the contest!
