A 1962 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (30x40; measures 30" x 40") (Learn More)

Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) thriller ("The master of suspense brings you his masterpiece!"; "Based on the short story by Cornell Woolrich"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a man who breaks his leg and is forced to stay at his home until he's better; during this time he observes his neighbors and does some voyeuristic detective work) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; as Jeff), Grace Kelly (as Lisa), Wendell Corey (as Detective Lt. Doyle), Thelma Ritter (as Stella), Raymond Burr (as Lars Thorwald), Judith Evelyn (as Miss Lonelyhearts), Georgine Darcy (as Miss Torso), Jesslyn Fax (as Miss Hearing Aid), Rand Harper, Havis Davenport (Harper and Davenport played the "newlyweds"), and Ross Bagdasarian (as the "Songwriter"). Note that Raymond Burr had appeared in movies for seven years before this, but always had minor roles, usually playing the "heavy". It would be three more years before his big break in 1957, when he became TV's "Perry Mason"!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that for the 1962 re-release of this classic Hitchcock movie (released to capitalize on the success of Psycho), Paramount added a large image of Hitchcock to the top of the posters (and middle left of the lobby cards), and added a box at the bottom that calls Raymond Burr "TV's Perry Mason" (between Rear Window's first release and 1962, Burr went from being a minor character actor to a major TV star!). Also note that Grace Kelly has been given an added credit that says "The Princess - in her most striking performance!" Note that the new tagline for the movie was "See it! - If your nerves can stand it after PSYCHO!" NOTE THAT, FOR THIS 30X40, PARAMOUNT HAD THE IMAGE OF HITCHCOCK DOMINATE THE WHOLE POSTER, WITH A "LETTER" FROM HIM THAT READS "I HAVE NO OBJECTION... If you see 'REAR WINDOW' twenty times. This motion picture has enough merit to stand up under any number of viewings. But please do not anticipate those deliciously terrifying scenes that make you scream. Hold your breath until the scenes actually appear on the screen. Then let go. Alfred Hitchcock"!

Condition: very good. There is a fine vertical scuff mark at top extending into Hitchcock's image and there are some scuffs, smudges, and minor creases throughout the poster (typical of 30x40 posters). Overall, the poster is in generally nice condition and it displays well.
