Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Superman in Exile, the 1954 George Blair & Thomas Carr comic book superhero action adventure (a compilation of 3 episodes of TV's "The Adventures of Superman"; the episodes in this feature are "Superman in Exile", "The Face and the Voice", and "Case of the Whistling Bird") starring George Reeves (in the title role as Superman/Clark Kent), Noel Neill (as Lois Lane), Jack Larson (as Jimmy Olsen), John Hamilton (as Perry White), and Robert Shayne (as Inspector Henderson). Note that this was one of five compilation movies created out of episodes of this classic TV series. They were apparently solely shown outside the U.S. (which makes sense, since the episodes had been shown on TV in the U.S.), and we know that it is likely that one-sheets and lobby card sets were created for all five compilation features, but one-sheets from them are quite rare, and lobby cards are even more rare (which also makes sense, since lobby cards would have been far less likely to have been used in other countries). The other four titles were Superman and the Jungle Devil, Superman Flies Again, Superman's Peril, and Superman in Scotland Yard. The only reason we know so much about these titles is because a pressbook was created for all five features, and we once auctioned it, and it sold for $412! Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine. there was 3" of separation on the top foldline which was repaired with white tape from the back; there is the slightest of paper loss in the right of the middle foldline and a 1/2" vertical tear in the same area just above "N" of "IN"; there is a 1" tear in the right of the top blank border; the entire poster has darkened very slightly; The above is truly nitpicking! The poster is in really nice unrestored condition (except for the single piece of tape on the back), and its defects are extremely minor. While most collectors would certainly be happy with it just as it is, the minor defects would completely vanish if it were linenbacked and the poster would look perfect!
