An Autographed Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) Roy Rogers (often referred to as the "King of the Cowboys") is considered one of the all-time top cowboy western actors (he started in the 1930s and worked in film until the 1950s) and was nearly always accompanied by his equally famous horse, Trigger. His top roles include Pecos Bill, Son of Paleface, Disney's Melody Time, King of the Cowboys, and Don't Fence Me In! AND Dale Evans was an actress certainly best remembered as Roy Rogers' on screen and off screen co-star, but she had a really unusual life! She was married at 14 in 1926 and had a baby the following year, and by 1936, she had divorced her third husband, at which point she embarked on a musical career (she was only 26). She found success as a recording star and then got some film roles, and in 1944, she co-starred opposite Roy Rogers, and two years later, his wife passed away, and she divorced her husband, and the two married and starred in many movies together, along with their hit TV show. About the Collection this Item Comes From Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who was a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1980s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items, and over the years he did not re-sell any of the autographed items. Now he has gathered up together all of his autographed items and consigned them to us. So all of the items from this consignor we are auctioning were purchased by this dealer from longtime dealers and collectors, and we feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic!
