The Elmer Traffic Safety Program was started by Toronto mayor Robert Hood Saunders in Canada, and as a result, the number of traffic collisions among children dropped by 44 percent! By the 1960s Elmer had become a symbol across Canada. Since 1971, the Canada Safety Council has held the trademark and copyright for Elmer the Safety Elephant. Elmer was revived in Saskatchewan during the Covid-19 pandemic. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good.
