An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Der Fuehrer's Face, the 1943 Jack Kinney Walt Disney World War II (WWII) animated animation family comedy cartoon (about Donald Duck as a worker in a Nazi bomb factory who has to salute Adolf Hitler in a swastika-filled 1984-like world, but it turns out to all be a dream and he realizes how happy he is to be an American citizen!; winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film) featuring the voice of Clarence Nash (as Donald Duck). Note that this short was originally titled "Donald Duck in Nutzi Land" (which is on some early promotional material), but the title was changed after the song called "Der Fuehrer's Face", which was written for the short by Oliver Wallace, was released by Spike Jones and His City Slickers in September of 1942. The song became a huge hit, and the title of the short was changed right before it was released to theaters on January 1st of 1943. Some promotional material even feature the tagline "The picture from which the song sensation was taken!".

Important Added Info: Note that this still is one of a remarkable collection of 39 original 1940s Walt Disney stills that just surfaced! They are from four movies (Der Fuehrer's Face, Fantasia, Pinocchio, and Saludos Amigos), and not only are these extremely rare stills that are hardly ever auctioned, but they almost all are in really nice condition and show great scenes! The origin of these stills is even more fascinating. Our consignor attended these movies as a young boy, and a kindly theater owner gave him these stills, and he has carefully preserved them all these many years, until now, when he has consigned them directly to us! In addition, he had a wonderful collection of original Disney pressbooks and Pinocchio 11x14 standees and 8x10 color lobby cards, and those will be auctioned by us in our August Major Auction! This is an incredibly rare opportunity to obtain some of the finest Disney stills we have ever seen, and all 39 will have new owners when these auctions close, because all start at $1 with no reserve. Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm].

Condition: very good to fine. The still has very slightly discolored around the edges. Otherwise, the still is in really nice condition!
