An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life, the classic 1946 Frank Capra (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) banking family fantasy romantic melodrama ("Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! How could it be anything else!"; "They're going steady... straight to your heart!"; "It's a Wonderful Love!"; "Frank Capra's wonderfilm..."; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a man at the brink of suicide, and an angel appears who shows him all the good that he did, by showing him how his world would have been if he had never been born, and that renews his faith) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; "America's Favorite Feller..."; as George Bailey), Donna Reed ("Jimmy's Favorite Girl..."; as Mary Bailey), Lionel Barrymore (as Mr. Potter), Thomas Mitchell (as Uncle Billy), Henry Travers (best remembered for playing Clarence the angel in this movie!), Beulah Bondi (as James Stewart's mom), Ward Bond (as Bert), Frank Faylen (as Ernie), Gloria Grahame (in a memorable role as Violet, the "bad" girl), H.B. Warner (as Mr. Gower), Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer (as Freddie), Stanley Andrews, Sheldon Leonard (as Nick), William Edmunds, Jimmy Hawkins, Samuel S. Hinds, Frank Hagney, Karolyn Grimes, Virginia Patton, and Todd Karns NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this rare style B half-sheet has a completely different image from that of the title card, and that it is similar to the one-sheet, but with added coloring and inset artwork images, plus a great tagline that is not on the other poster! Condition: very good. The poster has the usual two folds, one in each direction. There are creases at the crossfold, but no paper loss. There are creases and a few tiny dots of surface paper loss in the horizontal foldline and the most minor of wear in the vertical foldline. There is paper loss in the top right blank corner, pinholes in the top corners and in the center of the top border, and a few tiny tears, smudges, and creases around the edges of the poster. There are some creases scattered through the image. There is one in Donna Reed's hand and two in the area between the two stars. There is a 1 1/2" scuff line that starts in the background next to Stewart's face and extends across to his cheek. The poster is 100% completely unrestored, and no one ever put a single piece of tape on the front or the back of the poster. I could understand some collectors choosing to have the poster paperbacked and restored (to repair the minor defects described above), but I can't imagine there are many of these half-sheet surviving at all, and this may well be one of the only ones that has no restoration whatsoever, so I could certainly understand someone choosing not to restore it, and I know every collector would be happy to display this great poster just as it is!
