An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Ebb Tide, the 1922 George Melford silent Tahiti tropical island shipwreck adventure romantic melodrama ("From the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson and Lloyd Osbourne"; a wacky story that was started by Stevenson but completed by his son; it concerns an Englishman shipwrecked in Tahiti, on an uncharted island, and there is a local man there who has grown rich from the pearls they find there, even though he seems to never contact the outside world; of course, he has a beautiful daughter and of course, the shipwrecked captain gets involved!) starring Lila Lee, James Kirkwood, Raymond Hatton, George Fawcett, Noah Beery Sr., Jacqueline Logan, and Donald Crisp. Note that Paramount made another movie called "Ebb Tide" in 1932, but it had no connection to this movie, but they did remake this movie in 1937, with Frances Farmer in a lead role (and there have been several television adaptations in the years since). Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there are white areas in the corners that look like they COULD be a defect of some sort, but they are NOT. They exist on stills from silent films that have this sort of black border around the edges. It appears that stills of this sort were made by actually blowing up a frame of film, and perhaps those white areas are some sort of sprocket holes. In any event, they are contained within the printing and are not any sort of defect! Condition: good to very good. There is some light staining in the upper right corner, with some tiny creases, very tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss in parts of the borders. Learn More about condition grades
