An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) My Pal, the King, the 1932 Kurt Neumann cowboy western (about the child king of a fictional European country, who meets a cowboy star!) starring Tom Mix, Tony the Horse (billed as "Tony the Wonder Horse"), Mickey Rooney (in the title role as King Charles V), Stuart Holmes, Noel Francis, and Jim Thorpe (famous Olympic Decathlon sports champion who was stripped of his medals; he also played professional baseball AND football, and even made a few movies!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still is a key book still, printed on a deluxe heavyweight paper stock. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. Someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the top of the still (and someone later added three new punch holes). Also note that the movie is called "Kings Up" on the back of this still, which was the working title for this movie! Condition: good to very good. The top 1" was neatly trimmed off and someone added three new punch holes (see above). Otherwise, the still is in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
