An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Texans, the 1938 James P. Hogan Texas cowboy western ("Romantic Epic of the Colorful Southwest!"; "Sons and daughters of glory... fighting, loving their way out of the blazing pages of history"; "Based on a Story by Emorson Hough"; produced by Lucien Hubbard) starring Joan Bennett, Randolph Scott, May Robson, Walter Brennan, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), Raymond Hatton, Robert Barrat, Harvey Stephens, Clayton Moore, and Francis Ford NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had separation, extra creases, and tiny areas of paper loss down the top half of the vertical foldline. There were some tears and tiny areas of paper loss near the center of the poster in Bennett's sleeve. There was tiny paper loss in the center 3" of the top foldline. There were creases, smudges, and a few very tiny tears in the foldlines not mentioned above. There were some pinholes, creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area). Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty nicely backed, but you can see some slight signs of the restoration down the vertical foldline.
