An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Malice in the Palace, the 1949 Jules White Arabian slapstick comedy short ("Howl at the Stooges as screwball Santas!"; "A Columbia Short-Subject Presentation"; in this entry, the Stooges run an Arabian restaurant, and they learn that an Emir has stolen a precious diamond, and they go to his palace to try to get it back, and they figure that dressing as Santa Clauses is the best way to do that) starring The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Shemp Howard), Vernon Dent, George Lewis, and Frank Lackteen. Note that Curly Howard was originally going to play the part of the chef in this. They filmed that scene, but ultimately it was cut from the movie. But by a lucky break, an image from that scene was included in the lower-left of the one-sheet (Curly had lost weight and had a false handlebar mustache, but it is definitely him!). So the one-sheet from this short is the ONLY one-sheet that has all four Stooges on it (there is a single lobby card for this short that has Curly, also "in disguise"). Curly had suffered a stroke a few years before, which is why he had lost so much weight. Note that much of this short was re-edited into the 1956 comedy short "Rumpus in the Harem". Important Added Info: UPDATED 08/15/2016: Note that a Stooge expert tells us that this is one of the most desirable Shemp Stooge posters because four Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Shemp Howard & Curly Howard) are shown. Please see the Film Description for more information. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some fine surface paper loss on parts of some folds, with a diagonal crease in the top left corner. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
