Treasure Island, the 1920 Maurice Tourneur silent pirate adventure thriller ("Pirates! Spanish gold! Hidden treasure! A marvelous production of the greatest of all adventure stories...."; based on the classic novel by Robert Louis Stevenson) starring Shirley Mason (as Jim Hawkins), Josie Melville, Al W. Filson, Wilton Taylor, Lon Chaney Sr. (as Blind Pew), and Charles Ogle (as Long John Silver). Note that Universal made an interesting casting choice in choosing diminutive female star Shirley Mason to play the lead role of young Jim Hawkins! Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Also note that this novel had been made into a movie in two earlier silent versions, and there were a number of later sound versions, most notably the 1934 version made by MGM with Wallace Beery and Jackie Cooper.
