An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Wine, the 1924 Louis J. Gasnier silent romantic melodrama ("The Picture of the Hour"; "Adapted from the sensational story by William McHarg") starring Clara Bow (in her first starring role!), Robert Agnew (billed as "Rob't Agnew"), Forrest Stanley, Myrtle Stedman, Walter Long, Robert Benedict, and Huntley Gordon. Note that because Clara Bow was a pretty unknown actress at the time this movie was made, the poster artist for the one-sheet completely missed in drawing her likeness, and even made her a blonde! Note that Clara Bow was the most famous "flapper girl" of the mid to late 1920s (she became known as "The It Girl" after the character she played based on the popular novel by Elinor Glyn). She had a major role in Wings, and was Paramount's biggest star at that time. But she had a notorious private life and seemingly "settled down" when she married cowboy star Rex Bell in 1931 (she had two children and she retired from movies), but sadly in 1949 she went into a mental institution after a failed suicide attempt (she had had psychiatric issues for quite some time) and she was released but never returned to her family, and lived alone until her death in 1965. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1924 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned a one-sheet and a window card from this movie before we received this lobby card, which is the first lobby card we have ever auctioned! As noted above, the one-sheet pictures a girl who is supposed to be Clara Bow, but looks nothing like her, and the window card doesn't picture her at all. Here she is prominently pictured and completely recognizable! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is in excellent condition and is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
