An Original 1947 (from the first release of this movie in Spain) Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" [11 x 16 cm]) (Learn More) Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars, the 1938 Ford Beebe & Robert F. Hill science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy outer space adventure serial sequel ("See the kingdom of the Clay Men!"; "15 startling chapters of further adventures on a new planet!"; "From Alex Raymond's Astonishing Newspaper Strip"; "Original Story and Screen Play by Wyndham Gittens, Norman S. Hall, Ray Trampe, Herbert Dalmas") starring Buster Crabbe (billed as "Larry 'Buster' Crabbe"; in the title role "as 'Flash Gordon'"), Jean Rogers ("as Dale Arden"), Charles Middleton ("as Emperor Ming"), Frank Shannon ("as Dr. Zarkov"), Beatrice Roberts ("as Queen Azura"), Donald Kerr, Richard Alexander ("as Prince Barin"), C. Montague Shaw (billed as "Montague Shaw as 'Clay King'"), and Kane Richmond NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Baneo Important Added Info: Note that this is a VERY unusual herald! It was created by a local theater, and it has 8 pages, and the cover has a blank area at right where they "tipped-in" a regular herald for this movie! In the interior pages, there are two images for this movie (see our images). We have not auctioned a herald like this before, not only for this movie, but for any movie. In addition, we can't be certain when this herald is from. It has Universal at the bottom, but no logo, and there is a giant robot on it, but no Flash Gordon. We have seen a herald that has printing on the back from 1947 (which matches what IMDB has for the Spanish first release), and another that mentions an "atomic bomb" on the printing on the back, so we feel sure that this is from the later 1940s. The question remains whether it is from the first release in Spain, or a re-release. For now, until we gain further information, we are calling this 1947 1st release, but it could be a re-release. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front. Condition: very good.
