A Vintage Studio Directory (measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" [11 x 14 cm]; 66 pages) (Learn More) 20th Century-Fox is a movie studio founded in 1935 by William Fox (who alone had one of the greatest Hollywood studios of the 1910s and 1920s), Joseph M. Schenck, and Darryl F. Zanuck when Fox Film Corporation and Twentieth Century Pictures merged. They were one of the "Big Six" major American film studios for over 80 years. Their greatest success came when they distributed 1977's Star Wars, and its many sequels! In 2019, Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, and it was renamed 20th Century Studios. Important Added Info: Note that this cool "official director" was only given out to authorized employees of 20th Century-Fox in 1948, because it contained street addresses and phone numbers of every single employee, including the actors, and one could see why they didn't want this to fall into the wrong hands! This particular example was the personal property of director H. Bruce "Lucky" Humberstone! Fox numbered each copy and put each recipient's name on the cover, so there would be no chance of someone using someone else's. We auctioned a number of items from Humberstone's estate, and this is one of the few remaining ones we have. We have never auctioned one of these before.
