An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked South American One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 29" x 40 1/4" [74 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Per Qualche Dollaro in Piu (released in the U.S. in 1967 as "For a Few Dollars More"), the classic 1965 Sergio Leone German/Italian/Spanish cowboy spaghetti western sequel ("The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting..."; "It's the second motion picture of its kind! It won't be the last!"; "The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting... A walking arsenal - he uncoils, strikes and kills!") starring Clint Eastwood (as Monco), Lee Van Cleef (as Col. Mortimer), Gian Maria Volonte, Mara Krupp (billed as "Mara Krup"), Luigi Pistilli, Klaus Kinski (as Juan Wild, the Hunchback), Joseph Egger (billed as "Josef Egger"), Panos Papadopulos, Benito Steffanelli, Roberto Camardiel, Aldo Sambrell, Luis Rodriguez, and Mario Brega. Note that this movie was released in December of 1965 (no doubt to qualify for awards), but most of the Italian posters from the first release are dated 1966. This same situation exists with La Dolce Vita and many other classic movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this South American poster! The IMDb lists this title ("Por unos dolares mas") as having been used in Argentina, Mexico, and Peru. Since the size of the poster seems clearly wrong for Argentina or Mexico, we therefore strongly suspect this is a very rare "Peruvian" poster, but we can't say for certain (see below). We are not sure what country this poster is from! In the past, we have had a few similar posters (in layout and size), and because they had Spanish writing, but were clearly NOT from Spain, we labeled some of these unknown Spanish language posters as being "South American", and no one has ever been able to zero in on a specific country. We think it is unlikely this poster is from Argentina, Venezuela, or Colombia, which would leave one of the other South American or Central American countries. If anyone knows more about what country this poster is from, please e-mail us and we will post it here. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold and small paper loss at the bottom crossfold. It had creases, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds. The borders were folded back at one time. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
