An Autographed 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Music Publicity Still (Learn More) Oscar Levant was a pianist, composer, and actor from the 1920s to the 1960s. Some of his movies include: An American in Paris, The Band Wagon, and Rhapsody in Blue. He was a really major talent, but sadly, he had many personal problems that limited his career (and which he was very open about). He passed away in 1972 at the age of 65. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Oscar Levant! This signed item comes from the collection of Lily Mae Caldwell, who was a newspaper film reviewer for many years, starting in the early 1930s and continuing into the 1970s. During her career she met many celebrities, both in person and through correspondence, and over that time she acquired a number of signed items. This item was found in her estate, and while a Certificate of Authenticity does not come with this item, we feel certain that the autograph on this item is surely authentic (and we think it extremely likely that he signed this still to her when the still was created in the 1940s, and not at a later date).
