An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 13" x 36" [33 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

Halfway to Heaven, the 1929 George Abbott romantic love triangle circus melodrama ("A Paramount All-Talking Picture"; "From the novel 'Here Comes the Bandwagon' by H.L. Gates"; about trapeze artists in a circus, two men and a woman, and one man is in love with the woman, but she loves the other, and the rejected man intentionally drops his rival during the act, and he is killed; he is replaced by a handsome young man, and the female acrobat falls in love with the replacement, and her partner starts to plan to kill the young man in the same way he did it before!) starring Charles 'Buddy' Rogers, Jean Arthur, Paul Lukas, Helen Ware, and Oscar Apfel. Note that Buddy Rogers quickly rose to success in the late 1920s, and in this movie he was billed as "America's Boy Friend". Note that this movie bears many similarities to the 1956 movie Trapeze, except in the newer movie no one is killed!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning, and we have only auctioned a few window cards, stills and a herald, but no other movie posters for the film! Note also that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 13" x 36" [33 x 91 cm]. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: fair to good. Someone trimmed parts of the left and right borders and it was done unevenly and it very slightly enters the background at upper left. Otherwise there is pretty minor wear on the folds and a small tear in the lower left border which has tape on the back. The poster is not at all fragile, which is a big plus (and unusual for a poster of this age).
