Sandberg Danish silent murder mystery melodrama (based on the book 'Our Mutual Friend' by Charles Dickens, which was his last completed novel; the story is perhaps the darkest of all of Dickens' works; the book opens with a man going through the Thames River late at night looking for drowned men, so he can steal their possessions before turning their bodies over to the police; he finds the body of a soon-to-be-wealthy man, who was murdered before he could collect his inheritance, and his fortune goes to a young female heiress, and there is much intrigue, with many characters appearing, some of whom are after the inheritance for themselves) starring Peter Malberg, Aage Fonss, Kate Riise, Peter Fjelstrup, Karen Sandberg Caspersen, Svend Kornbeck, and Kate Riise. Note that this was one of four Charles Dickens adaptations made by Wid Gunning between 1921 and 1925 in Denmark for release in Scandinavian countries. If the unusual first name "Wid" seems familiar, it is because Mr. Gunning started the most famous trade magazine in early Hollywood, "Wid's Daily"!
