An Original Vintage Model Truck (measures 6" x 9" x 24" [15 x 23 x 61 cm]) (Learn More)

Tonka Allied Van Lines Truck, the 1950s pressed steel model truck. Tonka is an American producer of toy trucks which is best known for making steel toy models of construction type trucks, commercial trucks and machinery. Since Tonka started making metal toys in 1955, we would think that this is one of the earliest Tonka trucks, as it is a fully metal replica of a real Allied Van Lines truck! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Important Added Info: Note that this Tonka Allied Van Lines truck has an unusual origin! Our consignor owned a movie theater in the 1950s that was next to an Allied Van Lines location that had this truck in its window. The man who ran the Allied location became friendly with the theater owner, and when the Allied people changed locations, the Allied man gave this truck to the theater owner, and he held it all these years! We found similar trucks to this (which are made of metal and very well constructed) on the Internet, but they had either different decals, or different colors, or both, and we could not find another example of this exact truck. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good to fine. The truck was never played with (see above), and it only has wear acquired while being carefully stored for many decades. See our images to get a good sense of the condition of this truck.
