Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Albericio Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds and some faint smudges scattered in the light colored areas. The title of the movie was written on the back of the poster in the upper right, and it slightly bled through to the front in the yellow to the right of Kelly's shoulder and slightly in her shoulder. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not address the bleed-through described above, or the faint smudges scattered in the light colored areas. It is not very distracting, and certainly, another restorer could touch up those areas if the new owner desires. Learn More about condition grades
