The Ships Are Coming, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) poster encouraging worker productivity, and featuring James Henry Daugherty art of a bald eagle flying over warships sailing towards a distant shore which is glowing red from the flames of battle.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a 7" tear in the center of the top border running down into the eagle's back. Otherwise, it had pretty minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
