An Original Vintage Autographed 5" x 7" [13 x 18 cm] Fan Photo (Learn More) Johnny Downs was an actor from the 1920s to the 1950s. He had appeared in the Our Gang comedies in 1925 and 1926 (not surprisingly, he played "Johnny"!). He was one of the few child actors who successfully transitioned to adult roles. In the mid 1950s, he hosted a kids show on TV, and later, he became a successful real estate investor. He passed away in 1994 at the age of 80. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Johnny Downs! Note that our consignor runs a memorabilia store, and the granddaughter of Mabel Young, who was a Paramount and MGM make-up artist in the 1930s and 1940s, sold him a collection of signed deluxe stills that her grandmother had acquired from MGM and Paramount stars when she worked at those studios. He has no certificate of authenticity, but we feel certain these signatures are authentic, and that the photos are original to the 1930s and 1940s (and since the woman who obtained the signatures worked at the studio, it makes it all that more certain that the stars actually signed them, and many of them are personalized "To Mabel").
