An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Baby Doll, the 1956 Elia Kazan romantic love triangle melodrama ("Elia Kazan's production of Tennessee Williams' boldest story!"; "She's nineteen. She makes her husband keep away -- she won't let the stranger go."; about two adult men obsessed with a teenage girl, based on the play by Tennessee Williams, with "Story and Screen Play by Tennessee Williams") starring Karl Malden, Carroll Baker (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; "Her name is Carroll Baker! Her role is raw electricity! Her portrayal is a sensation!"), Eli Wallach, Mildred Dunnock (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), and Lonny Chapman NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that some theater that showed this movie (no doubt a major theater) held a really wacky promotion. They had a girl in a nightgown posing like Carroll Baker in the movie (thumb sucking and all!) outside the front of the theater, below the 24-sheet that was on display! Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So it is an original still from 1956, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. There are two rust stains from a paper clips in the left of the image. There is a 1" tear in the left of the top border and tiny paper loss in the bottom left blank corner. Learn More about condition grades
