Leeds fake-clairvoyant crime film noir ("'Cult' crooks exposed!"; "Unmasking the 'phoney' cult ring!"; "Smashing the 'Seance' racket!"; "Secrets of fake 'mediums' exposed... in the daring action-drama unmasking swindle that costs trusting Americans millions a year!"; "Screenplay by George Callahan"; about a ring of fake fortune tellers who hold seances complete with crystal balls!) starring Robert Sterling, Joan Dixon, Ricardo Cortez, Dante (as Dante the Magician), and Harry Lauter NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. This poster has been linenbacked, but it was not very well done, either because the restorer did not do a very good job, or because the years since it has been linenbacked have not been kind to the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. Generally, it had a long diagonal scratch and surface paper loss in the top left and a diagonal scuff mark in the middle right, with minor wear on the foldlines and pinholes around the edges. The poster was not that well backed, because you can see signs of the above general defects and the restoration of the defects (in some cases, as should be immediately evident in our image, the linenbacker did no restoration to some of the defects). I would think few collectors would want to display it as it is, without someone performing some additional restoration. Certainly, a talented restorer could perform additional restoration (either with or without re-backing the poster), but it might be fairly expensive to have this done, so bear that in mind before you place a bid. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
