eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 3r0803 IT ALL CAME TRUE TC 1940 super sexy Ann Sheridan over tiny Humphrey Bogart, ultra rare! Date Sold 3/5/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Louis Bromfield's ("He wrote 'The Rains Came'") It All Came True, the 1940 Lewis Seiler romantic love triangle crime vaudeville screwball comedy (based on the novel 'Better Than Life' by Louis Bromfield, "Author of 'The Rains Came'"; about a gangster who hides out in a boarding house, and it is filled with oddball theatrical types, and he realizes he can make a nightclub with them, and of course, he has giant success, including finding sexiest undiscovered torch singer Ann Sheridan) starring Ann Sheridan ("America's most flamous girl..."), Jeffrey Lynn, Humphrey Bogart, Zasu Pitts, Una O'Connor, Jessie Busley, and John Litel. Note that Humphrey Bogart became a major star in 1937 after the release of "The Petrified Forest", but three years later, he had not found similar roles to keep him at the top, and by 1940, his star had fallen low enough that he was given very tiny third billing behind Ann Sheridan and Jeffrey Lynn in this movie (of course, all that would change in a year with "The Maltese Falcon", followed by "Casablanca" the year after!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that original 1940 release movie paper from this title is more rare than most 1940s Warner Bros. titles. This is almost certainly because Humphrey Bogart was given only tiny billing when the movie was first released in 1940, and the movie was re-released in 1945 and Bogart was given billing equal to Sheridan. It seems likely that during the re-release, they used up (or destroyed) the original 1940 movie paper that was left in poster exchanges, which would account for its rarity. However, the title card offered here is surely from the original 1940 release! Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS gelbacking? Learn More Condition: very good. The card had some small tears, smudges, and tiny stains around the edges, with a few smudges scattered in the image and three tape repairs on the back of the borders. Overall, the card was in good to very good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still exactly looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration, but the card displays really well! Learn More about condition grades
