A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 6 1/4" x 9 1/4" [16 x 23 cm]; 285 pages) (Learn More) June Allyson (born Eleanor Geisman) was a very likable actress from the 1940s to the 1980s. She was cast over and over as the "good wife", and she tried to break out of that mold playing an incredibly unsympathetic wife in "The Shrike", but the movie failed, and she returned to her good wife roles! Some of her movies include: The Glenn Miller Story, The Three Musketeers, and Executive Suite. She was the daughter of an alcoholic and she was married for a long time to actor Dick Powell, who also was an alcoholic, and sadly, after his death, she became an alcoholic, which caused a custody battle for her children with her own mother. Later in life, she became well remembered for her TV commercials for Depends! She passed away in 2006 at the age of 88. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by June Allyson! We have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that this item was consigned to us by an individual who owned a company that made movies and videos with famous celebrities in the 1980s and 1990s. The owner of the company would have the celebrities sign items from their famous films, and sometimes he would find second or third celebrities to autograph an item he already had gotten signed! In addition, he would ask celebrities he came in contact with if they had signed items from other stars that they would sell to him, and he purchased a number of items that way. He also would purchase unsigned items from the famed Larry Edmunds Bookshop in Los Angeles (to have the celebrities sign), and while he was doing that he would also purchase some of their signed items. So all of the items we have been consigned from this consignor were either obtained in person, obtained from celebrities who obtained them in person, or obtained from the Larry Edmunds Bookshop, and we feel certain that the autograph on this item is authentic! Condition: very good. There is some smudging across the top of the dust jacket, and in the white areas on the back cover. The dust jacket is in a protective sleeve. Learn More about condition grades
