An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Ghosts of Yesterday, the 1918 Charles Miller silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("From the play by Rupert Hughes"; a wonderful story about an artist who is about to commit suicide because he has no success, and a poor girl saves him, and they marry; they are madly in love, but she gets sick and dies, and the very next day, he gets a fortune for a photo process he invented; he goes to Paris, where he meets a cabaret dancer who looks just like his dead wife, and he asks her to pose for a portrait of his beloved, and after she agrees, she falls in love with him, but he tells her he only cares for her because she looks like his dead wife, and she slashes the portrait and leaves; he regrets sending her away and realizes he really loves her, and he goes to her to tell her so, but she is with her ex-boyfriend, and the two men fight, and the artist's eyes are slashed, and the other man jumps to his death; when the artist realizes that he is blind, he tries to send his girlfriend away, but she comes back because she knows he truly loves her!) starring Norma Talmadge (in a dual role as the wife/girlfriend!), Eugene O'Brien, Stuart Holmes, John Daly Murphy, and Henry Herbert NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good to very good. There is slight smudging on the glass (it is not very distracting, and it could likely be cleaned), and some of the black tape is missing. Learn More about condition grades
