Date Sold 12/26/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Irving Berlin's White Christmas, the classic 1954 Michael Curtiz post-World War II sisters holiday singing-and-dancing romantic musical (with classic "Lyrics and music by Irving Berlin"; "The most fabulous music-and-mirth show in motion picture history!"; "Joyous entertainment for every season, any year!!!!") starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen, and Dean Jagger. Note that this was the first motion picture to be filmed in VistaVision! Also note that the title song "White Christmas" was first introduced in 1942 in the Fred Astaire/Bing Crosby movie "Holiday Inn", and it proved to be so popular that this movie was made, utilizing part of the plot of that earlier film, and reusing this song, which was now over a decade old, but it proved to be an even greater hit! Important Added Info: Note that we have auctioned individual cards from this classic holiday movie many times, but we have only once before auctioned a complete set, and that was 8 years ago! Condition: good to very good. Most of the cards (with the exception of the classic close-up image and the scene on the blue stairs) have creases, smudges and pinholes along portions of the blank borders. The card with the classic close-up image (pictured at upper left in our first image) has faint brown staining scattered at right (mostly affecting blank paper but some of it is in the lower right of the image). It has a few creases and faint smudges in portions of the other edges. The card pictured below it has a tape stain at left and the card to its upper right has small pencil writing in the left center blank border. The card with the scene on the blue stairs is in nice condition (it and one other have brown paper tape on back at top and bottom that was not put there for any restoration purpose, typical of vintage lobby cards.) Overall the cards have some edge defects as noted above, but the image areas are in pretty nice condition and otherwise the complete set is generally in pretty nice condition.
