An Original Vintage Theatrical Jumbo Movie Window Card (WC; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Conquest (also released as "Marie Walewska"), the 1937 Clarence Brown historical France/Poland romantic revolutionary war melodrama ("The love story of Marie Walewska"; "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Mightiest!"; based on the novel by Waclaw Gasiorowski; about a Polish woman who Napoleon was infatuated with, and the Polish legislature urged her to have an affair with him, so that it would help their country!; she was one of several women Napoleon had major affairs with, including, of course, Josephine, and his second wife, but he also had documented affairs with a couple dozen other women) starring Greta Garbo (in the title role as Marie Walewska), Charles Boyer (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Napoleon Bonaparte), Reginald Owen, Alan Marshall, Henry Stephenson, Leif Erikson, Dame May Whitty, C. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this jumbo window card! Note that this poster can't possibly be rolled, and must be sent in a large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30" (but it can be combined with other posters the same size, including ones that could be rolled). Please bear the expense of a large package in mind before bidding on this poster. Condition: good to very good. The card has faint uneven staining in the top blank area and in the light yellow background at top. There are a few faint stains scattered in the rest of the card. It has paper loss in the bottom left corner, slightly extending into the solid blue area, and a 1 1/2" tear in the lower right border that has a piece of tape on the back. Otherwise, the card has had no restoration. It can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly, restoration could be performed, but that will be the choice of the new owner of this ultra rare poster. Learn More about condition grades
