Seitz romantic "Andy Hardy family" comedy ("New joy in 1942's first Hardy hit!"; one of the series of "Hardy Family" movies about Andy Hardy, his judge father, and the rest of his family; note that, in the first entries of this series, the judge father and his wife were the center of the movies, and the children had secondary roles, but Mickey Rooney's character quickly became extremely popular, and became the focus of the series) starring Lewis Stone (as Judge Hardy), Mickey Rooney (in the title role as Andy Hardy), Cecilia Parker, Fay Holden, Ann Rutherford, Sara Haden, and Donna Reed (in her fourth credited role!). Note that Donna Reed received 7th billing (and smaller than the main stars) because she was so new to movies, but she actually played the romantic lead, the shy daughter of a divorcing couple, who Andy tries to help come out of her shell by romancing her!
