An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Circus Day, the 1919 John William Kellette silent cowboy western comedy short ("Based on 'The Days of Real Sport' by Briggs of the New York Tribune"; "Scenario and Supervision by Clare A. Briggs"; based on the Clare A. Briggs comic strip) starring John Carr, and Rosemary Carr. Note that IMDB says that Briggs directed this short but the glass slide says it was John William Kellette (who also directed the sequels). Also note that we could not find out information about this short, but the only item we have auctioned is a glass slide, and it shows a man and a boy in cowboy outfits, and that combined with the title makes us very curious to know what the movie is about, especially because of the source comic strip was called "The Days of Real Sport", and was drawn by Clare Briggs, a well known cartoonist of the time who was best known for "When a Feller Needs a Friend". If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
