Biggest musical under the sun!"; "Hear 10 Irving Berlin Songs!"; "Congratulations MGM! 'Annie Get Your Gun' is the best job ever done of transferring a stage musical to the screen. -Irving Berlin"; "At last on the screen!"; "Based on the musical play with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and book by Herbert Fields and Dorothy Fields"; about famed female sharpshooter Annie Oakley) starring Betty Hutton (in the title role as Annie Oakley), Howard Keel (as Frank Butler), Louis Calhern (as Buffalo Bill Cody), J. Carrol Naish (as Chief Sitting Bull), Edward Arnold, and Keenan Wynn. Note that Judy Garland was originally cast in the title role of Annie Oakley, but she was fired after a month of filming due to showing up late or not at all, and for conflicts with Busby Berkeley. Berkeley was the original director who was replaced by Charles Walters who was replaced by George Sidney. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. This was a terminology used by MGM at this time for some re-releases, and it has caused some collectors to be confused! This poster is the original poster from the 1956 re-release of this movie, and is NOT a "reprint"! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster had tiny paper loss at just a few crossfolds and a very few creases, scuffs, and tiny tears on parts of some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that someone inserted metal grommets in the excess linen, which allowed them to display the three-sheet without framing it! It does not have any effect on the poster itself.
