An Original Vintage Spiral-bound Campaign Book (measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" [24 x 32 cm]; 50 pages) (Learn More) Paramount 1939-40, the 1939 spiral-bound studio campaign book ("It's our year!") featuring images and information on upcoming Paramount feature films including Jamaica Inn and Beau Geste. There are three pages on the Fleischer Brothers' "Gulliver's Travels" cartoon, two pages on Popeye and other Fleischer cartoons, a page on Hopalong Cassidy, and much more. The book has a spiral binding, which allows the pages to easily be completely opened and the book can be laid completely flat. Note that even though this campaign book was sent to many theater owners, it appears that very few examples have survived. I have been a collector of campaign books and related material for many years, and I know for certain that this campaign book is extremely rare! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we previously auctioned two different examples of this campaign book, one that had 50 pages, and one that had 60 pages, but both of them seemed complete. We don't think it is because one was missing 10 pages. The last page of the 60 page one has a page near the end that reads at the top "As we go to press... we announce the following", and then it shows ads for four movies. We think that they added 10 extra pages to the 50 page version of the book as it went to press, so that there is a 50 page version and a 60 page version, and of course, this is the 50 page version. Condition: very good. The book has some wear around the edges , but otherwise, it has survived pretty well and the interior pages are generally in really nice condition!
