Riders of the Purple Cows, the 1924 Ralph Ceder silent cowboy western comedy spoof short (produced by Mack Sennett; Andy Clyde owns a ranch that is besieged by outlaws, and his pretty daughter Alice Day sends for handsome Ralph Graves to come save the day) starring Ralph Graves, Alice Day, Andy Clyde, Vernon Dent, and Tiny Ward. Note that the title is a parody of the title of Zane Grey's classic novel, "Riders of the Purple Sage", which was filmed both before and after this movie. Also note that one of the gag writers on this short was an uncredited Frank Capra!
