An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More)

Cinefantastique was a horror, fantasy, and science fiction (sci-fi) film magazine published by science fiction writer Frederick S. Clarke (there had earlier been a mimeographed fanzine by that name in 1967). It was totally different from its main competitors, Famous Monsters of Filmland and The Monster Times because it was printed on slick paper and it had more intelligently written articles! A few of the first issues had no color, even on the covers, but Clarke quickly realized he needed color, and it was added soon after. There were very few ads, so each issue had FAR more actual content than similar magazines of that era (and it had many professional images illustrating each article). It was personally published by Mr. Clarke until his passing in 2000. It continued under different publishers, with name changes.
Artist: Ira Gilford
Important Added Info: Note: We have 18 images of this magazine, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 18 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 8.

Condition: very good. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images.
