A 1957 Re-Release Vintage German Film Program (measures 7 1/4" x 10 1/2"; 4 pages) (Learn More) Douaumont (also released as "Douaumont - Die Holle von Verdun" which literally translates to "Douaumont - The Hell of Verdun"), the 1931 Heinz Paul German World War I (WWI) France military documentary. Note that the Battle of Verdun is one of the best remembered battles of World War I, resulting in massive fatalities on both sides, with almost half a million men killed (around 2:1 German to French). Even though Germany officially won the battle, the losses that they suffered contributed to them eventually losing the war. Douaumont is the largest fort defending Verdun. This German movie showed the horrors of this battle, and the only poster from it we have ever seen has a wonderful surreal image of a literal death oozing into the German bunkers! Artist: W. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" item for this German movie! Also note that we have provided an image of all the pages of this 4-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and the interior two pages together). This way, you see the entire program, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
