An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Birth Of A Man, the 1916 Horkheimer Bros. silent religious awakening melodrama ("A 5 Reel Production By Horkheimer Bros."; a great story of a millionaire who has disdain for all poor people, but then he is robbed, and he spends a few days wandering, and when he returns home, he is so disheveled that no one recognizes him, and they treat him badly, and he manages to break in and clean himself up, and then everyone recognizes him, but that experience makes him realize the error of his ways, and he devotes his life to helping poor people) starring Henry B. Walthall (best remembered as one of the stars of "The Birth of a Nation"), Joyce Moore, Henry Stanley, Jay Herman, and Richard Johnson. This movie obviously bears a great similarity to Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol". Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Condition: good to very good. The poster had minor wear on the foldlines and pinholes around the edges. There was a 2" x 4" area of paper loss at the middle of the left border, extending into Walthal's sleeve. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and the restorer did a good job of recreating the paper loss in the middle of the left of the image.
