Diary of a Chambermaid, the 1946 Jean Renoir France rich-man-poor-girl romantic melodrama ("'I tried to be good - always!'"; "The very true confessions.... of an untrue girl!"; "Adapted from the novel by Octave Mirbeau And the play by Andre Heuse, Andre De Lorde and Thielly Nores"; "Screenplay by Burgess Meredith"; about a poor girl in France who gets a job as a maid to a rich old man so she can induce him to marry her) starring Paulette Goddard, Burgess Meredith, Hurd Hatfield, Francis Lederer, Judith Anderson, Florence Bates, Irene Ryan (two decades before she would gain major fame as Granny on TV's "The Beverly Hillbillies"!), and Reginald Owen. Note that this movie was remade in 1964 by Luis Bunuel with Jeanne Moreau in the lead role!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had some extra horizontal folds, with many creases and scuffs along parts of the folds. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
